Which law are we set free from?
If we should keep God's law, which law are we set free from? Which law was nailed to the cross by the messiah? This study aims to find out
[Jhn 8:31-40 ESV] 31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." 33 They answered him, "We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, 'You will become free'?" 34 Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. 35 The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will
be free indeed. 37 I know that you are offspring of Abraham; yet you seek to kill me because my word finds no place in you. 38 I speak of what I have seen with my Father, and you do what you have heard from your father." 39 They answered him, "Abraham is our father." Jesus said to them, "If you were Abraham's children, you would be doing the works Abraham did, 40 but now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. This is not what Abraham did.
[Gal 3:10-14 NASB] 10 For as many as are of the works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written, "CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO DOES NOT ABIDE BY ALL THINGS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF THE LAW, TO PERFORM THEM." 11 Now that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, "THE RIGHTEOUS MAN SHALL LIVE BY FAITH." 12 However, the Law is not of faith; on the contrary, "HE WHO PRACTICES THEM SHALL LIVE BY THEM." 13 The anointed has redeemed us from the CURSE of the Law, having become a curse for us--for it is written, "CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE"-- 14 in order that in the anointed Yehoshua the blessing of Abraham might come to the nations, so that we would receive the promise of the spirit through faith.
[Deu 27:26 NASB] 26 'Cursed is he who does not confirm the words of this Law by doing them.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen.'
[Hab 2:4 NASB] 4 "Behold, as for the proud one, his soul is not right within him; But the righteous will live by his faith.
[Lev 18:4-5 NASB] 4 'You are to perform My judgments and keep My statutes, to live in accord with them; I am YHWH your God. 5 'So you shall keep My statutes and My judgments, by which a man may live if he does them; I am YHWH.
[Deu 21:22-23 NASB] 22 "If a man has committed a sin worthy of death and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree, 23 his corpse shall not hang all night on the tree, but you shall surely bury him on the same day for he who is hanged is accursed of God, so that you do not defile your land which YHWH your God gives you as an inheritance.
[Gal 5:1-12 NASB] 1 It was for freedom that the anointed set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. 2 Behold I, Paul, say to you that if you receive circumcision, the anointed will be of no benefit to you. 3 And I testify again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is under obligation to keep the whole law. 4 You have been severed from the anointed, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. 5 For we through the spirit, by faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness. 6 For in the anointed Yehoshua neither circumcision nor uncircumcision
means anything, but faith working through love. 7 You were running well; who hindered you from obeying the truth? 8 This persuasion [did] not [come] from Him who calls you. 9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump [of dough.] 10 I have confidence in you in the master that you will adopt no other view; but the one who is disturbing you will bear his judgment, whoever he is. 11 But I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling block of the cross has been abolished. 12 I wish that those who are troubling you would even mutilate themselves.

[Eph 2:1-16 ESV] 1 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience-- 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with the anointed--by grace you have been saved-- 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in the anointed Yehoshua, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in the anointed Yehoshua. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in
the anointed Yehoshua for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. 11 Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called "the uncircumcision" by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands-- 12 remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in the anointed Yehoshua you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of the anointed. 14 For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility 15 by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, 16 and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility.
